What is Cube Kingdoms?
Imagine if a voxel city-builder and an autobattler had a baby, and then that baby was raised as a side project. Cube Kingdoms lets you manage a medieval settlement and fight off monsters in a slow-burn strategy experience.

Gameplay
You aren't playing a traditional autobattler here. If you're coming from TFT or Battlegrounds, forget that fast-paced drafting loop. Cube Kingdoms is more of a slow-burn city builder that uses auto-battles for its combat. You'll spend most of your time in Economy View, setting up production chains to keep your voxel settlement running before switching gears to build defenses against waves of goblins, undead, and demons. It's a weird, niche mashup that feels like a low-stress mix of Stronghold and a strategy game.
It's definitely rough around the edges. The biggest headache is the lack of text descriptions for buildings, which means you'll spend the early game guessing what things actually do. It feels like a mobile port with a UI that isn't quite polished for PC. Even the dev admitted the performance isn't great and they're treating it as a side project now. Because of that, the experience can feel fragmented. You'll either love the cozy management loop or get bored by the lack of intensity.
At $7.49, it's a paid entry in a genre that's usually free-to-play. For most, that price is a gamble since the game is in such an unfinished state. You're paying for the vibe and the voxel art, not a polished, competitive masterpiece. If you can handle the clunky interface and the guesswork, the loop of building and defending is satisfying enough to keep you hooked for a few hours. Just don't expect a high-intensity strategy experience.

What Players Say
The community is split between people who love the aesthetic and those frustrated by the polish. Some players think it's 'so good' and have spent five hours straight playing, while others feel the game is in an 'extremely rough stage' and find it more frustrating than satisfying. You'll find people praising the graphics and the 'big stronghold vibes', but the lack of building descriptions is a recurring pain point for those trying to learn the ropes.
